III. Functions.
1. The Interpretation Department will be at the service of the Colonial Secretary for the translation of all petitions, letters and other documents the Colonial Secretary wishes to be translated or for the revision of translations made elsewhere and will furnish the Colonial Secretary with whatever information he may require regarding Chinese affairs.
2. The Interpretation Department will, under the direction of the Colonial Secretary be responsible for the editing of the Chinese portion of the Government Gazette and gradually prepare for publication in the
